I was just asked during one of my many radio interviews whether I think that politicans will ever stop spinning & lying.
I replied that as long as the American public tolerates spin and believes lies that of course politicians will continue to use these tactics.
We live in an Age of Spin. My radio host today rightly pointed out how commonplace it is for everyday people to use spin to get jobs, to woo the opposite sex, to get their children to do what they want, and so on.
There are numerous varieties of integrity that all of us are wise to enhance in ourselves: personal integrity, relationship integrity, societal and collective integrity, leadership integrity, and political integrity.
Politicians are not the only ones who need to upgrade their political integrity. So do everyday citizens, especially those who vote and those who are approaching the age when they can begin voting.

I believe that one of the biggest reasons that both Obama and Huckabee did far better on SuperDuperTuesday than anyone thought they would even as little as two weeks ago is that both these folks are seen as being capable of bringing a far greater level of integrity to the presidency than there has been in many years.
There are definitely both pros and cons to having political parties and, more specifically, to a having two-party system. I suggest that in today's spin-dominated political climate, the cons now significantly outweigh the pros. Today's party-oriented system promotes polarization of complicated issues into dangerously oversimplified positioning that is frequently fanatical in tone.
The question of revamping the U.S. income tax code is one of the themes that has comes up in every presidential election for decades. We all know that the current income tax code is broken beyond all reason. One of the questions we need to collectively answer is whether to replace it with a more fair and more corruption-proof income tax or whether to replace it with a taxation approach based on consumption rather than income.
Everyone intuitively already knows that our country is divided into three camps that are NOT defined by political party, no matter how much the dog fighting between liberals and conservatives is designed to divert us from this far bigger problem. Those three camps are:
