Excellent read so far!
Hello David,
I have now read four chapters of your book and I like what I've read so far. Even though we've been using the word integrity for a long time in our society, you explain it in such a clear manner (particularly with the three core drives) that we can see how we may not be in complete integrity with ourselves, and how we need to be so we can fully benefit ourselves, and also be of benefit to all the wonderful people around us. I like how your (easy to understand) explanation of our 3-D self helps us see how we might be out of integrity.
I'm so glad you wrote this book David. You have so much education, insight from your clients and life experience to share. It sure seems so far that you have organized those vast thoughts and experience into a clear picture of helping us to understand ourselves better.
I like Arwen's story and how you are able to bring to light what's needed for us to transform into extraordinary, peaceful and happy adults. The 3-D development makes total sense. I also like chapter four and how you clearly explain the seven essential life skills (or WisePassions) we need to work on to move closer to deliberate developers. Even if some of those seven skills already come naturally, it is nice to bring them to the forefront of our minds to cultivate them. And for the skills that don't come naturally, we can now recognize them and work towards developing them further.
In chapter four on page 66 you write about 'Meaning and Gratitude are Inseparable." I completely agree with you there. We do have something to learn from each life experience, good or bad, and I believe we must be able to forgive and be grateful for that experience so we can fully understand what we are to learn from it, even if we don't understand right away,
I look forward to reading on and speaking with others (through your Cafe) that are reading the book. I will be attending a weekend with my teenage daughters in March titled Snowball. It is an organization that helps develop teenagers' self worth, which in turn helps them make the right choices in life (especially staying away from drugs). I'm sure I will be able to use some of what I've learned from your book when interacting during that weekend.
I look forward to Chapter 5!
Thanks David,
Michelle

Submitted by Jamie on Wed, 02/06/2008 - 20:57.Hi Michelle,
I agree with you, that David has clarified what we all vaguely know about integrity. I have completed reading the book, The New IQ. I marvel how David's life experiences and life's work have been shared in such an easy to understand and logical manner. His vision and ability to lead the world's development of integrity is very timely. I look forward to sharing more ideas and insights from David's book with you Michelle. My best, Jamie
Thank you, Michelle

I am delighted you have joined TheNewIQ.com community. I enjoyed reading your post and I look forward to reading what you have to say as you continue to read the book.
Perhaps you will find an opportunity to talk with the leaders of Snowball about the value of having their members read the book and use the workbook, which is a perfect pre-designed curriculum for developing a deeply personal relationship with what the book covers and for embodying the book's principles in the world.
Do let me know if I can be of any assistance with this.
Pass the spark,
David
